November 2, 2020Tennessee School of Beauty to host multi-event fundraiser for Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network
KNOXVILLE, TN – Tennessee School of Beauty is excited to announce two new ways to support Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network.
A unique virtual running/walking event, offering two distance options that are very important to the cause. Participants have a chance to sign up to either travel 1.4 miles/day November 2020 – January 2021 or to log a total of 48.3 miles during this timeframe. The distances are representative of the 1.4 million suicide attempts in the United States in 2018, and the 48,344 people that died by suicide.
Tennessee School of Beauty will be providing free haircuts with donations to Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network from November 3 – November 20, and from January 5 – January 22 in 2021. In addition to the donations for haircuts, 10% of all color services will also be donated during this timeframe.
Bringing awareness to suicide prevention is very important to the Tennessee School of Beauty family. The owner, Adam Brown, lost his son, Logan, to suicide in 2012. Adam’s other son, Stephen, has recently joined the management team at the school, and they’re working together to help raise awareness of this important cause.
“If we can do anything to help just one person in need know that the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network is out there, then we will have succeeded,” says Stephen Brown, 5th generation member of the Tennessee School of Beauty family. “I’m very proud of the family atmosphere we have here at the school, and I’m thankful that we have this way of honoring my brother, Logan, and helping others at the same time.”
